You are not the only one

10,5 million South Africans are behind on their accounts right now — that is more than one in three people with credit.

Falling behind is not a character flaw. Interest rates, retrenchments and rising food and fuel prices did this to households across the country. The people who get out are simply the ones who asked what their options were.

Seven quick questions about your figures. No documents, no credit enquiry, no obligation — and nothing is shared with your creditors.

What is the total of everything you owe?

A rough figure is enough. Most people guess low, so choose the higher band.

Good to know: Even large balances can be restructured into one lower monthly amount.

Before you commit to anything

What if somebody told you the whole truth about your options first?

Not a sales pitch. The full picture, including the parts most companies leave out until after you have signed.

Your salary lands and within two days it belongs to accounts you are barely keeping alive.

You have run the same numbers in your head for months and they have never once come out right.

You have read the reviews of companies like ours. Half say it saved a family. The other half say people paid for a year and their debt grew. You do not know which half to believe — and that caution is not irrational. It is the last thing you have left to protect.

So Protect My House works backwards from that suspicion. You see the written breakdown before the signature. You hear the consequences before the sales part. And if this is the wrong solution for your situation, you are told so on the first call.

What you are carrying right now

  • Calls from numbers you have stopped answering
  • A salary that is spoken for before it clears
  • Paying every month and owing the same amount
  • Fees nobody ever wrote down for you
  • A partner who does not know the real figure
  • Consultants who go quiet after the sale

You have carried it long enough on your own. The first step is one honest conversation, and nothing more.

What relief actually feels like

Picture the first month your salary is still yours

Most people do not want to be debt-free one day. They want to breathe next month. This is what changes once a plan is active.

Your phone stops being a threat

Collection calls and SMSes route to your specialist instead of you. You can answer an unknown number again.

One debit order, one date

No more deciding which account gets paid this month. One amount leaves, and it is shared out for you.

Money left for the basics

Groceries, school transport, electricity and petrol come first, because the plan is built around what you actually earn.

An honest conversation at home

A written plan you can put on the table means the real figure stops being a secret you carry alone.

Sleep without the 3am arithmetic

The numbers are in a document handled by someone whose job it is to manage them, not in your head at night.

A finish line you can see

A dated end point instead of an amount that never moves, with written confirmation once accounts are settled.

Nobody at your work, in your family or in your street is told anything.

Your enquiry is confidential and handled by one specialist. No employer letters, no home visits, no announcements. You decide who you tell, and when.

Who you would be dealing with

One operating rule: nobody signs before they see where every rand goes.

One named specialist takes your file at the first call and keeps it until your written confirmation. No handovers, no rotating agents, no discoveries after the ink dries.

That structure exists because the industry too often did the opposite: fees buried until after commitment, warm agents who went cold after the sale, clients paying faithfully while their balances climbed.

Our registration is current and verifiable before you speak to anybody, and every fee is disclosed in writing before a document is signed.

The route

From drowning in instalments to debt-free

Five stages, in the order they happen, with nothing hidden between them.

  1. 01

    Honest assessment

A registered specialist goes through your income, instalments and arrears and tells you which legal route actually fits. Free.

  2. 02

    Written repayment plan

Before any signature you receive a month-by-month document showing fees and what reaches each creditor.

  3. 03

    Protection activated

Your application is lodged, creditors are formally notified and your new plan is confirmed by court order.

  4. 04

    One payment, distributed

A registered payment distribution agency receives one amount monthly and pays each creditor their approved share.

  5. 05

    Clearance certificate

When restructured accounts are settled, your accounts are settled and written confirmation is issued to you.

How it actually works

Three steps before anything is committed to

A specialist listening and taking notes during a client assessment
Step 1

Find out exactly where you stand

You send your details and a specialist phones you, usually within one working day. This is a conversation, not an application. Nothing reaches a creditor and nothing gets signed.

A printed month-by-month repayment breakdown on a desk
Step 2

See where every rand would go

You get a written month-by-month breakdown: the fees, the amount reaching each account, the timeline, and the consequences most companies only mention after sign-up.

A client reviewing and signing a repayment agreement at a desk
Step 3

Start with both eyes open

If the route suits you and you choose to proceed, the application is filed, creditor contact routes through your specialist, and one instalment replaces the pile.

Why waiting costs more

Every month you delay, the arithmetic gets harder

This is not a closing tactic — it is how unmanaged over-indebtedness behaves. While you are deciding, the interest on your balances is not.

  • Balances keep growing through compounding interest and penalty fees
  • Creditors can start enforcement before you apply, closing options
  • Legal protection cannot be backdated — it starts when you file

The situation does not sit still while you wait for a better month.

What the free call includes

Your written repayment breakdown, before you commit to anything

A month-by-month document showing what leaves your account, what pays fees, and what actually reaches each creditor.

The full fee picture, in writing

Exactly how much of your monthly amount is fees and how much lands on your accounts. Before you decide, not after.

A straight answer on which route fits

A restructured repayment plan, a negotiated arrangement, or none of them. If the answer is none, you will hear that.

A realistic restructured figure

Built from your income, expenses and arrears. A grounded number, not a percentage borrowed from an advert.

The uncomfortable parts, plainly

What happens to your credit profile, how long the road runs, and what changes if your circumstances change.

The name of the person on your file

One registered specialist, reachable directly, from the first call through to your last payment.

What your legal protection covers

When it starts, what creditors may and may not do once it is active, and what keeps it in place.

All included. No cost. No obligation.

Our three commitments

What we promise before a single signature

No breakdown, no signature.

You see the complete fee and creditor split, month by month, first.

One named person.

A direct number, from your first call to your last payment.

An honest no.

If it is the wrong solution for you, we will say so plainly.

Questions people ask

The things you would want answered first

What does this cost me?

The assessment and the written breakdown cost nothing. If you proceed, the fees are the ones regulated for this process, and every rand of them appears on your breakdown before you sign.

How long does the process run?

It depends on what you owe and what your income can carry. Most restructured plans run between 36 and 60 months. Your specialist gives you your own timeline, in writing, on the first call.

I have already received a summons. Am I too late?

Not necessarily, but timing matters. Once enforcement proceedings advance, some options close. Bring the letter to the call so your specialist can read it before advising you.

Can I keep my car and my house?

In most restructured plans secured assets are kept, with the instalment reworked to something your income can carry. Your specialist confirms this against your actual agreements before you commit.

What if I go through the assessment and say no?

Then nothing happens. No application is filed, no account is touched, and you keep the written breakdown. You are allowed to walk away with the information.
